# Ben ik btw-plichtig?

De kans is groot dat je je onderneming als btw-plichtig moet inschrijven bij de administratie. Je ondernemingsnummer wordt dan geactiveerd als [Btw-nummer](/plutus-open-knowledge-hub/belastingen-en-bijdragen/btw/btw-nummer.md).

Je bent een btw-plichtige onderneming wanneer je:

* op zelfstandige & regelmatige basis 
* producten en diensten verkoopt 
* met of zonder winstoogmerk.

**Vrijgestelde kleine ondernemingen zijn btw-plichtige ondernemingen**

Vrijgestelde kleine ondernemingen zijn ook btw-plichtig en hebben dus ook een btw-nummer. Als een onderneming enkel activiteiten uitvoert die wettelijk zijn vrijgesteld, moet zij zich **meestal** niet inschrijven bij de btw (zie [Art. 44 vrijgestelde ondernemingen](/plutus-open-knowledge-hub/belastingen-en-bijdragen/btw/btw-hoedanigheid/art.-44-vrijgestelde-ondernemingen.md)).
